Recently when someone sends me a photo from another iPhone or Mac all I see is pic below. The download button does nothing when tapped. It was working fine a week or so ago. I can send photos fine, they appear in Messages. I just can’t receive them. I’m up to date on updates. I restarted my phone, no luck.

I’m on iOS 16.5 and having same issue. Just started today. Restarted phone, checked all above and nothing working for me. Oddly, my partners is receiving just fine. And I’ll add this is only happening to me in our family group chat and everyone has an iPhone. Perplexed.

Here was the easy fix for me: I had to sign in with my Apple ID password. Somehow I was signed out. Go to Settings to sign back in.

I turned off iMessage, shut the phone off for 5 min, turned it back on and turned back on iMessage. Confirmed that this approach worked for me.
