Watch continuously disconnects when abroad

I run into a strange problem when I travel abroad (in my case: from Holland to the US). I first noticed this in New York early last year: the Watch constantly gave the notification “you left your phone”, which I didn’t, I was wearing it with me.

At this moment I’m in California and it’s just insane. I get the notification all the time, notifications from my phone to my watch don’t come through and navigation instructions don’t automatically go to the Watch when I take a walk.

I have no idea why this is, could it have something to do with me using a second e-sim pure for data when visiting America? The Watch is a cellular model but no subscription is set up on it.

This means your iPhone is not near. (It is not alerting about the watch.)

You are wearing it is obvious here.

Probably you have set up Notify When Left Behind

On your iPhone, open the Find My app. Tap Devices or Items. Tap a device. Under Notifications, tap Notify When Left Behind.

Set up and use Notify When Left Behind in the Find My app
