Read receipts

I have an iPhone XR, my iOS is up to date. My read receipts are off but someone has recently notified me that they can always see when I’ve read their messages. They’ve also sent me screenshots to prove it.

You may set the Read Receipt function to OFF overall, however, you may have set the Read Receipts to ON specific to the person who informed you.

Open the Messages app ➡️ Tap on the person’s name and open the message thread ➡️ Tap on the person’s name again (Top Center) ➡️ Send Read Receipt: Ensure that this switch is set to OFF.
