I have a LG 49WL95C-W 49 Inch 32:9 UltraWide monitor connected to a Mac Studio via HDMI cable. Video works fine. There is no audio (yes, that monitor has build-in speakers). I've spent hours checking everything and researching online and cannot find any reason why this is happening. Any help? Thanks.
Found the Solution: In the LG monitor menu go to: settings-general-input compatibility version- and switch from 2.1 (PC) to 2.1 (AV) and this will resolve the issue.

Thanks! I had trouble getting audio via HDMI (but USB-C was working fine). This solution actually worked for my LG Monitor. 👍
Solution: Goto Settings->General->Input Compatibility Version and switch from 2.1 (PC) to 2.1 (AV)

And I've put that into place and still no sound. I've reviewed everything again and simply cannot find any reason for now sound.

Hmm..... I went over the LG's Owners Manual and really didn't see much of anything helpful.... In fact, the connections, controls and audio sections, all seemed vague and incomplete.
The Manual did say, that the LG can receive Audio over HDMI and USB-C. But because it lacked any real detail on Audio Input, I'm left wondering if there is an OnScreen way to switch the Audio Input between HDMI and USB-C Input connections.
The only other thing that might help, is to download the the Mac OS OnScreen Control and the Dual Controller from > https://www.lg.com/us/support/product/lg-49WL95C-W.AUS to see if either of those help.
Or optionally, see if you can patch the Audio thru a USB-C to USB-C connection, along with the display's downstream USB ports.

I would go down to the local Electronics Store or to Amazon if you prefer and pickup a Short Premium Certified HDMI cable.

Click the Sound icon on your menu bar and check to see if the HDMI is there as an option.
