iPad Refresh Rate Feels Slow

Hello!

First time posting so I'm sorry if this isn't formatted well. I recently bought the iPad Air 5th generation last month and using it so far has been alright. Previously I was using a second or third generation iPad Pro that was handed down to me, and one day after one of my classes I was met with a big black line down the center of the screen, which only got worse over time. Since I use it for class I was forced to replace it.

So with buying this new iPad there have been familiar things, and things I have to get used to. One of which, that I was surprised to be met with, is the refresh rate! The refresh rate on this new iPad Air is slower than the previous iPad I had! After looking it up some, the refresh rate on both of them should be the same. I also have an iPhone 12 from about 3 years ago, which should have the same 60hz refresh rate, and when scrolling through webpages or just the apps on the home screen, it looks infinitely better than it does on the new iPad Air.

Is there some kind of setting I'm missing here? I'm unsure if this was a setting or something I turned on as I was unable to transfer the data from my old iPad to the new one. I've done a lot of looking before deciding to post here, so any help would be greatly appreciated!

The only setting that will directly impact the screen refresh-rate is Low Power mode. When active, Low Power mode will save power by reducing system performance and screen brightness - and disable some background processing tasks.

For maximum performance, ensure that Low Power mode is not enabled:

Settings > Battery > Low Power Mode - set to OFF

Low Power mode can also be enable or disabled from the Control Centre. Low Power mode may be automatically enabled when your available battery charge falls to 10% and below.
