Poor quality camera on my 2019 Macbook Air
I am continuing this previous thread because it applies to me and never got an adequately helpful response. I have upgraded from a 2015 MacBook Air (where I previously had no problems like this) to a 2019 MacBook Air, and now it looks like my camera is in a rainstorm. And is grainy. Did they downgrade the cameras? I changed the GoogleMeet settings and forced it to always be in HighRes mode (720p), but then that causes the MacBook to start working extra hot (I can tell because the fans all turn on). What's up with this downgrade in quality 4 years later? Sheesh, Apple. I should have stuck with buying a new 2015 for $120.
Any way to mess around with the camera's settings in the OS? Is it due to not installing all the OS updates yet? It says I still need to do a few. Which I am hesitant to, because I am aware of the lawsuits that Apple went through where it intentionally downgraded it's products or bogged them down with new updates, to incentivize people to buy brand new iPhones, etc. In general, this one is slower to. Is it similar to the Mach 4 Volkswagen TDI? Perhaps Volkswagen's best engine ever... They had it down to perfection and then they messed with everything and made it worse for the Mach 5 TDI.
