MacOS Photos iCloud syncing

Dear Apple —

The MacOS Photos.app does a terrible job of syncing with iCloud. If I take a picture on my iPhone (where I can force a sync by dragging up) it takes a ridiculous amount of time for it to show up in my MacOS Photos.app. Worse still, there's no clear reason for the delay (IOW it's inexplicable), and the amount of time it takes is unpredictable. Please don't tell me I should reboot in safe mode or whatever, because really what should happen is that you, Apple, should just add a menu item or, even better, a button that forces Photos.app to sync.

This is a PEBDAA issue (Problem Exists Between Developer and App), not a PEBCAK issue (Problem Exists Between Chair and Keyboard).

Thanks,
