iPad calendars do not synch with Mac without iCloud
When synching my iPad with my Mac, the bottom bar says that calendars are being synched. But the calendars on the iPad do not match the Mac.

It appears you're not on the correct page. You should be on "Info" rather than General. You should be able to make the correct selections there.

Also, despite what it says in that screenshot, if your iPad is running iOS 16.3.1, it is not up-to-date. The current version is iPadOS 16.4.1. So, updating that may help.
How are you syncing them? What "bottom bar"? Remember we can't see what you're seeing so you need to describe it fully. Screenshots are also helpful.
I just gave you a screenshot to show the bottom bar. My failure occurs when I am on the info page that shows which calendars I want to sync. Yes, 16.4.1 is the latest. I have automatic updates on, but Apple didn't do it. I will update and see if that helps.
I had trouble getting to this site, because Apple does not accept my password when I use Safari. It seems strange that I have to use the Chrome browser to access Apple.

Yes, it does seem strange. I have no trouble using Safari.
If Apple no longer lets me synch my iPad without iCloud, it is time to get some other brand of computer.
