I just deleted some photos on my iphone xr and I don't know how to retrieve them. It keeps telling me to go to utilites but there is none on my iphone xr any idea how to get my photos back ?

If they are not in the Recently Deleted file, they are gone for good unless you had included them in a back-up of your photos.
See instructions in If you're missing photos or videos in the Photos app - Apple Support
When you delete photos they are moved to a Recently Deleted album. You can recover them from there for 30 days.
I can’t find a folder that says recently deleted files
Thank you Lawrence I shut my iPhone completely off then when I restarted it and went to my albums the recently deleted photos were there . Thanks again 😊
