It sounds like your MacBook Pro is experiencing an issue with its software or hardware that's causing it to fail to restart properly. Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot the problem:

1. Try resetting the System Management Controller (SMC) on your MacBook Pro.

2. If resetting the SMC doesn't work, try starting your MacBook Pro in Safe Mode.

3. If Safe Mode doesn't work, try running Apple Diagnostics or Apple Hardware Test to check for any hardware issues.

4. If none of these steps resolve the issue, it may be necessary to reinstall macOS on your MacBook Pro. Make sure to back up your data before attempting this.

I hope these steps help you resolve the issue with your MacBook Pro and allow you to update it. If the issue persists, it may be best to take it to an authorized Apple service provider for further diagnosis and repair.

Start with Reinstalling the macOS:

If your Mac keeps restarting, I would recommend you backup the hard drive, and then reinstall the macOS. Once reinstalled, perform an other update attempt.

Time Machine Backup:

Create Time Machine backup prior to the reinstallation of your macOS, so that you can have something to restore your Mac from, should anything go wrong with the reinstall. Use an external hard drive that is at least 1.5 the total storage capacity.

Then...

Reinstall the macOS:

Nothing would be deleted. It's just that items that have become corrupted or deleted, would be placed back to where they should be. Go Here: How to reinstall macOS from macOS Recovery - Apple Support

I tried the diagnostic and it said I have no issues. I tried to reinstall macOS (I still have the BigSur) but I’m back to the issue that the mac has to restart a few times during the installation and I don’t have the privilege lol.

I will try resetting SMC then safe mode but I’m pretty sure something is stopping my mac from shutting down properly since I always get a message when I start it.

thank you so much.

I think it might be an app like you said so I will try safe mode.

I did install an SSD because my MacBook had very little capacity and I needed bootcamp for some school softwares. But it ran normally at first. I tried the first aid and recovery a few times with no luck.

i get zero issues when I run the diagnostic ( the code was AP0D00 or something like that not really sure) but will definitely try safe mode.

if all else fails I’ll just get a new SSD and just install macOS all over. I don’t want to transfer anything since it might be that some system could be corrupt.

I appreciate the help. Thank you.
