Epson T3170x- "Filter Failed" error & cannot acquire printer information
I had to reinstall our printer driver (directly from Epson's website) and I'm suddenly not able to print. In the Printer Setup dialog, it says printer information can't be acquired (the red X between the printer & computer icon.) If I try to go ahead and print anyway, the job in the queue says "Stopped- filer failed."
I've tried:
- resetting the print system & reinstalling the driver (multiple times)
- restarting the computer and printer (multiple times)
- manually deleting printers, PPDs, & caches in the hard drive Library
- updating the printer firmware
All to no avail.
I know it's not an issue with the printer since it works on my MacBook (and I've already spoken to Epson.)
To test, I tried installing the same driver on my MacBook and it connects & prints perfectly. For some reason on THIS computer it's not working, and I don't know why.
