How to install YouTube and Facebook on iOS 12.5.7

If you ever had Facebook or Instagram installed, then most likely it's on your list of purchases. When you head to the Facebook's lodge on the App Store you tap the download icon (the cloud with the down-pointing arrow). Since the minimum supported version is higher then you may be offered to download the last compatible version for your device. The most recent version for iOS 12.5.7 is still working as expected. I'm claiming that with confidence since I upgraded from iOS 12.4 to iOS 15.8 four days ago.

That is correct. Facebook requires iOS 13.4 or higher, your iPhone 6 can't go higher than iOS 12.5.7.

Try using the web version of Facebook.

No, you cannot install Facebook on your iPhone 6 plus. Use the web version instead.

Not possible. You need a newer device. Facebook has chosen not to make the app available any longer for devices running ios 12.

If you do, it means you have a legacy version, installed long ago. For someone who is on 12.5.7 who does not have Facebook on their iPhone however, they won't find it available for 12.5.7 any longer.

Apple doesn't make the Facebook app. Meta (Facebook) does.

You are free to go and ask Meta to (re-)release a Facebook app for older versions of iOS – if you can find a way to contact them. I doubt if they will oblige, but they are the ones you need to convince if you want it to happen.
