Why does my iPhone keep losing public WiFi networks?
If I'm at home, or at a friend's house, once logged on to WiFi my iPhone stays logged on. It doesn't matter if the iPhone has gone to sleep, when woken it is still logged on. However, if I'm on a public WiFi -- in a hotel or a shop for example -- when the iPhone wakes up, I often have to go through the log-on process all over again. I use a VPN but that is not the problem: disconnecting the VPN makes no difference -- I still have to log-on again if the iPhone has gone to sleep since the previous session. Is this because of an iPhone setting? Or is it a property of the WiFi networks?
