Trouble using Mac Book Air keyboard

I'm a sloppy typist. That said, I hate using my relatively new Mac Book Air. I cannot type two sentences without the cursor jumping forward or backward, often landing several lines away in the middle of a word. Would an auxiliary keyboard help?

I had similar problems and solved them with a separate Apple trackpad. I found that my palm kept rubbing on the laptop trackpad and messing up my typing. You could also use a mouse but I like the external trackpad.

Yea, I sometimes have that problem even though I keep telling myself to keep my wrists straight, don't 'slouch' them down and tap that great big mouse pad with my wrists. I have a small work laptop (Dell) same problem there too. Take a look at where your wrists are... may be hitting that mousepad. In the work laptop I disabled the touchpad and carry a small mouse because it beats carrying a keyboard around.
