When I pause in an app (Hoopla) and it switches over to iTunes?

I got an iPhone SE...because they no longer make iTouch :( I ONLY listen to Hoopla (and occasionally audio books on iTunes...because I downloaded CDs). I use ear buds (Skullcandy)...and can pause by just pressing once. When I pause in Hoopla, it switches to iTunes and starts playing. I then have to go back and start it from the device because I cant just press my ear buds again.

This is extremely frustrating, and does not happen on every book in Hoopla but for some reason it does in others. Is there a way to make sure this does not happen? Make it so iTunes does not start? Override or something?

We understand that you're experiencing unexpected behavior when using your ear buds with an app on iPhone. We're happy to help.

Do you have another device that you can test the ear buds on? Do you have another pair of wireless headphones that you can test on the iPhone? This will help isolate the issue.

If you power down the iPhone and restart, does the issue persist? This is a great, initial troubleshooting step.

Make sure that both your iPhone and the apps on it are up-to-date as well. Before updating, we recommend backing up your iPhone first. These articles can be of help. When you back up, you can back up using a Mac or PC rather than iCloud if you choose.
