Sorry. Not solved.

I have an individual subscription and I do not share it with anyone. I use it on two computers(one Imac and one linux) and my Pixel phone. It plays music fine on my phone but when I connect via Chromecast to a speaker I get the device limit alert and I have to force quit the app and clear the cache. Sometimes that doesn't work either and I'm forced to sign out and then sign in. NOT GOOD, APPLE!

How can I (or you) fix this?

PS: just as an aside, the Mac desktop app will not cast to Chromecast speakers so I'll be happy to dump it since I rarely use it for that reason. Cider for Linux works much better in all respects.

It certainly does not mean you are using Apple Music on more than one device simultaneously at all.

Apple's checks just don't work properly. I get the same issue trying to cast Apple Music from my phone. It's only me that uses the subscription. Only me that uses my Apple ID. I have that ID on my phone and laptop (obviously), my laptop is switched off.

This needs to be fixed otherwise I'm just switching to a service that actually works.

Thanks for reaching out arwest,

It looks like you are getting a device limit alert in Apple Music. We can help.

If you are seeing this message, it means you are using Apple Music on more than one device simultaneously, which doesn't make sense for an individual subscription. You'll need to upgrade to a family subscription if multiple people will be using the service.

You can follow these steps to Get an Apple Music family subscription.

Hope that helps.

Take care.
