cannot select transform tool, automatically selects pan tool when I click on an element

Every time I try and move a simple text box, the tool automatically switches to the pan tool from the transform tool. OVER AND OVER again. I have to quit the program and restart. It makes me want to find new program and abandon motion

I have not experienced anything like that. Whenever the application misbehaves, it’s worth trying to delete the preferences. To delete preferences, hold down command and option while starting Motion and click Delete Preferences.
