Locking out changing the timer on the Lock Screen

I use the timer a lot for cooking and procedures requiring it. The ‘new feature’ of being able to pause and cancel the timer from the Lock Screen causes several issues for me and has prompted me to have to use secondary timers. Is there a way to disable this ‘feature’?
