Are you importing photos from your iPhone to a computer? If so, make sure you're following these steps: Transfer photos and videos from your iPhone or iPad to your Mac or PC - Apple Support

If that doesn't help, let us know the following so that the community can assist further:

1.) What device are you taking the photos on? If an iPhone, which software version is installed?

2.) Do you use iCloud Photos?

3.) Where are you seeing this date? After importing to your computer or somewhere else?

In case it's any help in diagnosis, I also have four photographs that carry this date.

They were all received by email from a single contact, having been scanned from old prints and then had some enhancement work done on them. (I don't know what work was done or what tool was used.)

I imported them from Apple's Mail app directly into the Photos app on a Mac desktop. The dates show in the Info panel, in the 'All Photos' panel and everywhere else, as though they are genuine dates the photos were taken.

(I haven't tried fixing the dates, as the error means they appear at the end of the 'All Photos' view, which suits me.)

Stephen, that might indicate that a certain scanner is assigning this date as a default, undefined capture date.

If there are photos with this date in crafty72's library, a smart album with the rule "date taken is ..." should find them in Photos for Mac. Then the date could be changed to something more realistic.

Where exactly are you seeing this heading in Photos? Is it a Memory or an Album?
