I tried, just now, enabling a reminder on the Support Community notification and it worked as advertised. I went back to the original email that was failing and it failed. I have repeated the failure a number of times. So it has something to do with the email specifics. I can confirm:
- The support community notification is in my main mailbox, it has no attachments, and no conversation thread.
- The failing email is in a different mailbox, has attachments and has a conversation thread.
Indeed the Remind me mailbox is created and destroyed on the fly. That seems to be working.
The notifications may be ok - I am surprised they are the transient type - is there a way to change that?
The "float to the top" part is most certainly broken. Does it depend on having the mailbox sorted and viewed in certain ways? Perhaps, as a power-user, my settings are esoteric and the feature has not been tested with all combinations.
