Apple Notes disappear if they get corrupted

I have noticed a behaviour where editing an Apple Note, which is opened on your Mac and iPhone at the same time, results in the note getting corrupted and simply vanishing. The note is not in the Recently Deleted bin, it just disappears. Too bad if you had important information stored in that note!

I've been using Google Keep everyday for years and have never seen this happen. Google Keep seems to handle multi-device editing seamlessly and offers superior sync integrity and stability.

I've been parallel running Google Keep with Apple Notes for over a month now and keep finding examples that suggest Notes is not reliable. So for anything important I continue to use Keep.

I agree - data integrity is fundamental. If you can't offer that (especially if you're Apple) then you have work to do before making your product available to customers. In Apple's case, they've had over 10 years to get Notes to work properly!

As an aside, I also have instances where I move text from the bottom of a list to say the top of that list in Notes, but when I go to another device, the same text appears both in the original location and the new location (so duplication of data in the same Note!). I find this staggering. The app is simply too glitchy to be in production.

I've decided to permanently park Apple Notes and go back to using Google Keep. Been using Keep for years without a single issue on all my Apple devices. It just works properly, all the time on any device and any browser.

I haven't had that happen, but have run into an issue where Notes stopped responding and the note I was working on lost a large amount of content (this just happened, which is the reason I've been searching for a solution and came across your post). There doesn't seem to be any way to undo this or to revert to a prior version. I was too slow to disable the network on other connected devices, so the lost content was propagated. Data integrity should be fundamental to any document-oriented platform.
