Satechi USB Hub not working after 13.3.1 update

After applying 13.3.1 update to my 2019 16" Macbook Pro and restarting, the Satechi USB-C Hub is no longer recognized. It worked right up until the reboot. Changing ports has no effect; neither the ethernet cable nor any connected USB-C or USB-A devices are recognized

"My Mac Studio M1 was working with my Satechi Hub until recently (June 2024).: [...]If there is a fix, I need to know it. If there was a corrupt update, it may be time to do something else. Any ideas would help. Thanks in advance."

View the Battery Condition:

Going into System Information, what do you see under condition (above "System Power Settings:") for the battery? Does it read "Normal"? If it does not read "Normal", then charging is not going to make it all the way for external devices.

  1. Click: Apple menu
  2. Hold Down: option key
  3. Select: System Information
  4. Select: Power
  5. View: Condition

Troubleshooting Hubs:

Reset the SMC and your NVRAM:

(Applies to Intel-Based Macs Only): Sometimes when changes are made to the system(i.e. Updates), system configurations (i.e. for Hubs) become manipulated, technically. So, reset the SMC and NVRAM. Try performing each thrice. It may take sometime, being certain you have the time to perform these resets.

The Original Poster started this thread in the MacBook Pro section, and said that they had a MacBook Pro 2019.

Since you hijacked someone else's discussion, and added your Me Too instead of staring a new discussion, you may be getting advice that applies really well to a MacBook Pro 2019, but not so much to your Mac Studio M1.

--------

Best advice for a Mac Studio M1 might be to give All your devices a timeout. Power down you Mac studio and disconnect the power cord and the Dock cable. if the Dock has its own power supply, disconnect that as well. Leave everything unpowered for at least a quarter hour.

Then reconnect, start up, and see if the situation has changed.

My Mac Studio M1 was working with my Satechi Hub until recently (June 2024). I noticed the Sd slot no longer could read the GoPro files a few weeks back so I just plugged it into the SD adapter on the front of the Studio. Today, I noticed the red light flashing on the Logitech Mouse that is usually plugged into the Satechi Usb Slot. Checking hardware on the Mac, it became apparent that the keyboard plugged in via a thunderbolt port, was losing its charge. All the ports on the Satechi are dead. After checking connections and restarting a couple times, Finder cannot find it. Looking at the messages here, a reset of some unknown variables in cryptic anagrams suggest the community could provide a point by point method to reset. All my backups go to the solid state drive in the Satechi. If there is a fix, I need to know it. If there was a corrupt update, it may be time to do something else. Any ideas would help. Thanks in advance.
