Using my Ipad for school

I always use my Ipad for school all the time. I also bring it to school but its very frustrating when I have to type. Sometimes, it duplicates The text I am typing when I don’t click the duplicate. It also slows down my typing all the time. And the thing I hate the most is when it kicks me out while I’m in the middle of my assessment. Is there anything I can fix it?
