Hi DuaneStevenson,

It sounds like you've synced one of your wife's contacts accounts to your iPhone, and you'll need to remove that to remove her contacts.

If this is just her email account, you can go to Settings > Mail > Accounts, and tap the account and turn off Contacts or Delete the account.

If instead you're using the same Apple ID as your wife, you're advised to create another Apple ID for yourself.

You'll need to similarly sign out of her iCloud account and then save a local copy of the contacts that sync with iCloud. After syncing you create a new Apple ID for yourself, you'll need to merge the contacts to your Apple ID, and then delete all the contacts that came from her account manually. It's never advised to share the same Apple ID with someone else.

Here's info on how to sign out:

Sign out of iCloud on your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Apple TV, or Mac

Here's info on creating an Apple ID:

If you were sharing Apple ID so that you could share content and consolidate subscriptions, have your wife add you to her Family Sharing instead:

Set up Family Sharing
