Air Tag for pets?

The AirTag will not locate a pet unless there is an Apple device within Bluetooth range, usually about 30 feet. Just another reason why they are not recommended for animals.

Based on this article the only drawback is if your pet ingests the AirTag, which can be avoided by having the AirTag secured in the collar and not dangling from it. I don’t think the author is a pet owner, because she does not understand how limited microchips are in locating your pet vs the air tag. The microchip only helps if your pet gets turned in to a vet or shelter, whereas if your pet is close to home (which they usually are) but lost or stuck somewhere, the AirTag would locate them.
