I share my iCalendar with my spouse who when "cleaning up" the calendar ended up deleting all 2,614 shared events — past and future. The only option I have it to accept all deletions. Is there a function that will allow me to keep them, even though they have been deleted by another?

You may have some options if you follow these instructions: If you accidentally deleted your calendars, bookmarks, or contacts from iCloud.
If both users are sharing the same iCloud account at this time, it may be best to set up a separate account for each person going forward. You can also share purchases and other iCloud features when you Make sure that each family member has a unique Apple ID.
