Using E-Sim in foreign country. Will the original be automatically deactivated?

Iphone 14.

Plan to go to Spain 21 days and purchase and activate a local E-Sim which want to use exclusively.

The carrier (ATT) states that although the local (Spain) E-Sim will be the primary........I will still receive phone calls and texts from the U.S. through the original E-Sim. Can I deactivate (without deleting) the original E-Sim on the phone. I have no interest in receiving phone calls from the US to my ATT U.S. number.

I am only interested on the Spanish E-Sim to be active.
