Messenger Facebook Links Wont Open 16.4.1 (iPad only)

I too am having the same problem, I’ve taken all the steps listed in an attempt to fix it, however, I’m also having problems with deleting my audio and video calls on messenger, not only on both iPads, on my iPhone 14 pro max as well, ( that I recently purchased), the iPhone will open the videos as you guys stated, but I can’t delete audio or video calls out of the Chat, without deleting the entire Chat. I’ve taken every step google had to offer to try and correct that as well. If anyone have any suggestions as to why I’m unable to delete those calls I’d really appreciate it. Thanks!

Have this issue been resolved for you as of today, 09/15/23? I’ve yet to have this issue resolved. As I stated in my prior comment I also found that I’m unable to delete my audio or video calls in messenger as well. I don’t have my cell phone number listed on my Facebook account do you think this may be a problem with not being able to delete the audio and video calls, or preventing Facebook videos from opening in messenger? It shouldn’t, however, I’ve tried everything listed here. Just asking. Thanks!

Thanks! I agree, it’s extremely annoying! My iPad is only 6 weeks old, I’ve had the old one for a few years, however, I’m having the same issue with it. This is obviously not of any great concern for neither Apple or Facebook.

If it’s a FB app problem why does the link work properly on my iPhone but same FB link does not my my iPad. I checked my setting on both devices and didn’t see any differences. What should I be looking for???

I downloaded the app from App Store, Is it a different FB app for an iPhone compare to an iPad?

So I on my ipad, I go to App Store, search for "Facebook for ipad" and there is only one that comes up and that's the one that I have. I updated in case, no change.

What does the Facebook for ipad looks like and why doesn't it come up when I search for it?

Does FB have an actual page that they interact with real people in a forum like this. I know I know. Im asking to much but thought I would see if there was a link to a FB group they do follow and have an explanation for this problem the it appears to be going on for almost 3 years.

I went to Apple support chat online, but got cut off. Was told to update my iPads which I did to 17.0.3

Still no change in getting Facebook links to work in messenger. Maybe others will have luck. Let us know.

Same issue here and it’s so frustrating that no fix is being offered by Apple. This is my first iPad too so was super excited to get one but almost now wishing I’d stayed with android!

I have the same issue and I just bought a new iPad, didn’t help. The problem is only on my iPad and iPad mini. The iPhone is ok. It also isn’t effecting my friends iPads at this point.

What is your friend’s iPad iOS version?
