It seems to work fine for me for macOS 13.3.1 (a) Ventura with QuickTime Player and Apple TV 4K (A1842) with tvOS 16.4.1.

  1. Please try restarting your router, your Mac, and your Apple TV box. Then try AirPlay again. For devices without on|off switch (e.g. some modem-routers), try disconnecting from power for a short while.
  2. Try the use AirPlay screen mirroring in macOS Control Center for just the desktop (no media file per se, no QuickTime per se). Any type of AirPlay, no matter how simple, should use the same network connectivity. Use AirPlay to stream what’s on your Mac to an HDTV - Apple Support
  3. Verify your home network. This is about your home situation, right? For Wi-Fi, do both devices connect to the same SSID network name? They need to.
