Enter a URL—such as apple.com—or paste a URL into your message. Mail automatically turns it into a link.
It is not clear what your issue is. What happens when you type in apple.com as described in your post? Does apple.com not type? It is under the email recipient's control whether or not a link in their received email is active or not. If you were to send me an email with links, none of the links in your email I received would work. Many email recipients disable links as a security measure.
When I type in apple.com it does not highlight as a link. I do not see where I can alter this behavior. I would like it to show as Apple.com automatically.
