Why is my navigation freezing?

Both Google Maps and Apple Maps are freezing up and not working when in use. I have restarted my phone multiple times, closed off the apps and brought them back up, I have checked to make sure my storage wasn’t full. This is the only part of my phone that I’m having any issue with— just navigation systems.

Apple Maps freezes iPhone 14 - 512gb This seems to be an ongoing problem - lots of posts and no solutions. When I’m using maps and navigating it basically tanks the entire phone. I can’t open up any other app and sometimes the apps, I just blank unresponsive, including safari apples on an app. I think it has something to do with the iPhone 14 always on display. We’re going on a massive trip and I need this to work. It’s so frustrating it’s happened multiple times over the past six months and it happens every time. I’m an iOS power user - rebooted phone, reinstalled Apple maps and also have the latest updates, etc.. the only thing I can do is do a full restore which I don’t wanna do because sometimes it messes up passwords, etc. Help!

Apple Maps Freezing iPhone When I use Apple Maps in OS 16 (iPhone 14), the map suddenly freezes, as do other apps. Quitting them does nothing. It requires a hard reset to get data to download again and Maps to display the navigation. I've seen others reporting this as well, but haven't found a solution. Anyone aware of a fix?

CarPlay freezing after iOS 18 update Periodically, but fairly frequently, CarPlay freezes. Often when switching between listening to a book using Libby and a map either google maps or Apple Maps.

I should mention my phone has also been updated to the latest version.
