Unusual HEAT (not warm) iPad Pro 11-in M1.
I was playing youtube video today when suddenly my iPad went unresponsive at all and is overheating constantly for almost 3 hours! This is not just warm.. it is unusually hot at the center of the device.
my estimate is that it went 45-50 degrees in temperature. but I might be mistaken.
I tried waking it up by pressing the volume up closest to the power botton, then volume down, hold the power button. but still unresponsive.
As this concerns me that it can cause a fire, since the heat is constant for 3 hours and I'm taking care of my 2-year old toddler, I contacted customer support for help.
the one that assist me advise me to take the device in a place where it has good ventilation and possibly, away from anything that might be harmful. it helps but still it is still heating up while the screen is off and not even connected to a charger.
I left my iPad away from potential danger that can harm my daughter. I waited until it will no longer hot assuming that the battery has drained. gladly it cooled down after 3-freaking hours!
I decided not to recharge the ipad because I'm not sure if the battery is still okay.
the customer support is really helpful advise me to get the ipad to the nearest service center. But the problem is, there is no way I can get to any because the nearest service center will need an airplane ride.
I purchased this ipad here locally where I reside. but how come that the service center is miles away? Is it the same for you too?
gosh it will take me 100-250 dollars for a round-trip ticket just for this ipad to be checked. there is no shipment option available as well. You have to personally go to their service center. Anyways, I'm from the Philippines.
The customer support that I talked put me on hold and I believe he chat with his senior to assess my case. They advise me to go to the nearest retailer instead and let my ipad be checked.
Does anyone here experience the same heating issue with their iPad?
What could possibly be resolution for my case if it will be check by the retailer only?
Hopefully someone shed some light.
