Need help to recover data from Hard Drive on MacBook Air 19

Regrettably, my younger sibling accidentally spilled water on my MacBook Air 2019 and now I cannot even turn it on. I went to a repair store, but they were unable to fix it due to significant damage to the motherboard. In an attempt to recover the data, I connected the hard drive as an external device to a new notebook. However, it appears that some of the files have been affected due to minor damage to the hard drive, as noted by the

technician. These files hold immense importance, and I am desperate to retrieve the data at any cost.

Could someone please provide guidance on how to restore the damaged files and recover the data?
