My new iPhone is named iPhone within the list of my devices on my AppleID.
It doesn't seem to exist any direct easy way to change its name on the AppleID web interface.

I had this issue too. Change the name of the device in Settings > About > Rename, did not update the device's name in the listed devices under Apple ID in Settings > Apple ID > listed devices. I think it's a bug. The solution was to turn off / restart the renamed iPhone.

I restarted my IPad 2024 twice after renaming it and it did indeed change the Device name in iCloud…Thank you so much
AIU the OQ, it applies also to MacOS devices. It's easy to change the local name of the device. Changing the name displayed at https://appleid.apple.com/account/manage/section/devices seems ... not possible.

Restarting TWICE on my device worked. I hope this helps.
When you change the name of your device on your device, it will change it everywhere you can see it listed.
Assuming you want to change the name of your iPhone (since you have asked in the iPhone forum), open the Settings App on your iPhone. Tap General. Tap About. Change the name there.

Change the device name: Settings>General>About>Name

Turning off the phone did not apply the new name in the Apple ID
I restarted my device after changing the name in General | About, too. Yet the device name in iCloud still remain the same old name, not updating to new name.
This is exactly what I did on one of my iPhone.
I was connected on the web server https://appleid.apple.com/ .
I connected my iPhone to Internet.
I changed the name of this iPhone on its Settings > General > About > Name.
My iPhone is still named iPhone on the web server.
I waited on slow motion 5 minutes… nothing changed.
Do we have to wait much much longer?
Do we have to reboot the iPhone?

I think i have found a way to fix it! After renaming the device i restarted my iPhone twice. I tried it on my ipad as well and it works.
Try restarting twice.
