Not getting Text/Sound notifications on Lock Screen or when screen is fully locked/off? SOLVED!
To fellow iPhone/apple users:
I found out that you have to go to Messages> Send & Receive> Unselect Email (iCloud email) in the "you can receive iMessages to and reply from" section, at the top...
I don't have any apple watches so I don't know how that will work with your BT devices... appl need to figure that out... i did plenty for them already.

To apple/apple support:
This is 100% not acceptable.
- I am a customer, I should not be the one looking up and providing an alternative to this issue (it IS an issue regardless of expected behavior-- see below).
- This new OS settings/behavior is NOT user-friendly...
- what user would request this?? this probably made sense on the drawing board-- it falls flat in for the consumer market
- Further...
- if i do not elect to fwd my messages to my other apps, that preference should override the expected behavior-- THAT should be the precedent for when/if i get sounds.
- i DID NOT have my other devices selected to receive the messages in "Text message forwarding"
- if i do elect to fwd the messages to my other enabled devices, i also have to set up a slew of settings there to receive the notification
- any setting, mode, or preference the user elects should be the default NOT this new OS default
- if i do not elect to fwd my messages to my other apps, that preference should override the expected behavior-- THAT should be the precedent for when/if i get sounds.
For confirmation all that I tested (most users would do as follows):
- I tested my device with DND mode off,
- deleted all focus modes,
- the DND switch on device was off/disabled,
- all settings in Notifications were enabled,
- All settings in Messages were enabled,
- all lock screen settings were enabled,
- low power mode was off,
- battery optimization was off,
- background app refresh was on
- I even added the number in question to my contacts, and then as a favorite...
you can safely assume at this point, i checked any/all areas notifications could potentially be suppressed by... everything was set to allow the sounds easiest access to the lock screen... NADA
Whatever high-roller investor complained about notifications on their device when they use a lock screen, that influenced the deployment of this, is a boomer! They personally owe me three hours of executive CSM wages for testing & finding a solution for other customers...
Thank you- have a great day!! << to other users... support team can have a nice day too! apple execs need to get it together.
