Are those popups appearing in the upper right corner of your display?

Those are Safari Notifications. Stop them by following these instructions.

  • Go to Safari's Preferences (or Settings) menu > Websites > Notifications, and remove everything there.

Easy. Don't allow websites to send you Notifications to begin with. Refer to Customize website notifications in Safari on Mac - Apple Support. Deselect "Allow websites to ask for permission to send notifications" and you will never again be harassed with such a useless HTML "feature".

..ChipDale..

Perhaps to check and clear browser histories or cookies, etc; since those may harbor

various bits that may pose pop-ups or varying active agents from the internet you see.

..Some may be adware, or whatever else the internet can deliver into your life..

-------

Ridding of McAfee Notifications:

A. Use MalwareBytes for Mac

This is software that searches for malware/adware. So, scan with it and then remove what is found. Once removed, uninstall MalwareBytes for Mac. Then restart the Mac. This software has been created by Long Time Users of these Forums. So, that makes it reliable for Macs.

Downloads:

  1. Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for Mac
  2. Malwarebytes uninstaller

B. Single-Out this User:

Try an Admin new user, see if you can add the eMail account t to it. If so, then it is an issue with the configuration of the current user. If not, then it is an issue with the entire Mac.
