Hot to transfer photos from memory card or Canon camera to Macbook Air?

I am a new Macbook user. Until now I had windows computers. I downloaded photos from the memory card using Canon's zoombrowser app. In doing so, folders with photos were automatically created according to the date when the photos were taken. Although I researched the Photo app closely, I did not find such an option. Unfortunately, I cannot install Canon's Zoombrowser app.

Is there a way to create folders according to date of taking photos automaticaly when downloading them?

Well, it's not automatic. In Photos>Library>All Photos, the pictures are in capture order. So you can click on the first one, shift click on the last one, and in the Menu choose File>New Album with Selection and name the album appropriately. I name an album something like "23 05 19 Trip to Zoo," for instance, so they alphabetize by date. I also include that name as a keyword for all the pictures in that album.

You can alternatively choose "File>New Smart Album" and use "Date Created" "is" "5/19/2023" to collect all the pictures made on that date.

If the pictures are already loaded into Photos, and you want to put pictures in folders on you desktop or wherever, you can choose File>Export>Export nn Photos. Then in the dialog, choose subfolder format>Moment Name, and you'll get folders with dates and locations.
