How to remove "Other" storage on my Mac?

What is the best way to free up memory "OTHER" has claimed?

I am considering completely clearing out everything and starting over, I would be very disappointed in APPLE if I have to go to such an extreme remedy just to use my computer. Why would Apple turn a blind eye to this overwhelmingly large, shared system problem.

Please explain how to clear out the "OTHER"

-OR-

How to clear the whole system, so i can start over..

Your question is about the device in your profile? Which OS version are you running?

Unfortunately (or fortunately), Apple has "sequestered" the hard drive on your computer with the latest OS versions in order to protect from scammers, etc. So, your contents in the system are now read only and cannot be altered. Here is some info from Apple:

About the read-only system volume in macOS Catalina or later - Apple Support

Protecting data at multiple layers - Discover - Apple Developer

You can usually help by deleting Time Machine snapshots; also check Menu > Apple > About this Mac > Storage > Manage. The only "radical" step that will clear it all is to reinstall the OS.
