lightning-to-usb-3-camera-adapter

Hello, I have and use a now obsolete iPad Pro 12.9 (2 generation) that uses a USB to lightning cable. I’m trying to transfer photos from old iPhones (5S and 4) that are no longer in service but have wifi and Bluetooth. Can I use a lightning to usb camera adapter to do this? I know, I’m way behind the times. Thank you for any help.

All models of iPad Pro remain in full software support - and all can be updated to the current version of iPadOS - this being iPadOS 16.5.

As for your iPhones, assuming that they are signed-in to iCloud over WiFi, using the same AppleID, you can simply synchronise your photos between all your devices, including your iPad, using iCloud Photos. You can enable iCloud Photos on each device from settings:

Settings > [Your Name / AppleID] > iCloud > Photos

Hello, at the moment there is a problem with the latest update of ios 16.5. If you update to this latest version you will not be able to use the "Apple Lightning to USB 3 camera adapter". If you have not upgraded you will be able to buy and use this adapter without problems to backup your photos and add them to a usb flash drive. Apple has not yet delivered a solution to this problem, which is what I am suffering from now.

Yes there is an issue subsequent to the release of iOS/iPadOS 16.5 - but it is incorrect to suggest that the Lightning to USB3 Camera Adapter is unusable…

The current workaround, pending a software update to fix the issue, is to use an Apple 20W (or greater) USB-C Power Adapter with a USB-C to Lightning charging cable.
