If I pay my AppleCare monthly, can I sell my iMac to other people?

I have AppleCare until 8/2025 for my iMac. I am selling my mac to a friend. I read online that if I pay my AppleCare monthly, I cannot transfer to other people because it is tie to my Apple account. What can I do if my friend need to bring it for repair now till 8/25? Can he bring it in or I need to go in with him since the AppleCare is under my name? And when the coverage expired, can he buy a new plan under his name?

You need to check with Apple; some plans are transferable. Call 800-275-2773 and ask for the Applecare division. If allowed, you can transfer the plan to the buyer.

It's your property; you can do anything you want with it.

If you pay monthly and you stop paying, the contract will expire. Whether or not that hurts you in the future is a question you need to ask Apple.

If your friend buys it, it's his and everything about it is his responsibility. Again, talk to Apple.
