Hello ebii161,

To help us get a better understanding of the issue, we’d like to ask a few questions.

1. Does this happen with all Bluetooth headphones you use with your Mac, or only certain ones?

2. Does the issue with the audio only seem to happen when using certain apps, or does that vary?

3. Do you receive any error messages when the issue occurs? If so, what does the error say?

The above information will help us plan how to proceed.

Please also be sure to review all of the details and suggestions outlined in the link you came from, as that can help correct issues with sound quality when using Bluetooth headphones: If sound quality is reduced when using Bluetooth headphones with your Mac

Quit apps that use the microphone

If sound quality is reduced when using Bluetooth headphones with your Mac:

* Quit any apps that use the microphone on your Bluetooth headphones such as video conferencing or chat apps.
* Make sure that System Settings (or System Preferences) isn't open and showing your Sound settings.

Reselect your headphones

If audio quality is still reduced, try selecting your Bluetooth headphones again:
1. Click Control Center in the menu bar, then click Sound.
2. Select your device's internal speakers such as MacBook Pro Speakers, then reselect your Bluetooth headphones.

Learn how Bluetooth headphones connect

If you listen to music or other audio with Bluetooth headphones and then open an app that uses the microphone on the Bluetooth headphones audio quality and volume are reduced. You might also hear static or popping sounds.

This happens because Bluetooth has two modes. The first mode is for listening to higher-quality audio. The second mode is for both speaking through the microphone and listening to audio. When Bluetooth switches to the second mode, audio quality is reduced until the microphone is no longer in use.

Thanks!

To reset the Bluetooth module on your Mac and resolve any connectivity issues, follow these steps:

1. **Removing Existing Bluetooth Devices:**

   First, remove all the existing Bluetooth devices paired with your Mac. This ensures a clean slate for the reset process.

2. **Resetting Bluetooth via Terminal:**

   Open Terminal on your Mac and type the following command:

   ```
   sudo pkill bluetoothd
   ```

   Press Enter to execute the command. You will be prompted to enter your Mac password for confirmation. Type in your password and press Enter again.

3. **Restarting Your Mac:**

   Once the `sudo pkill bluetoothd` command has been executed, restart your Mac.

4. **Powering On Your Mac:**

   After the restart, power on your Mac again. The Bluetooth module should now be reset and ready to use.

By following these steps, you should have successfully reset your Mac's Bluetooth module, resolving any connectivity issues you might have been experiencing.

*Note: Remember to pair your Bluetooth devices again after completing this process.*
