Here's how to force-restart an iPad without a home button:

1. Press and quickly release the volume up button
2. Do the same for the volume down button
3. Press and hold the top button
4. Release the top button when the Apple logo appears

Since you mentioned 'Slide to unlock', I'm assuming you're using an older iPad. If your iPad is too old, it may not be eligible for repairs by Apple. These iPads are obsolete and are not eligible:

• iPad mini 3 and older
• iPad (4th generation) and older

My iPad screen is frozen and won’t respond to touch commands. I have tried “force Restart” and will not allow me to “swipe to shut down”

Ensure you're pressing and holding the top button, even when the message to 'slide to power off' appears. The screen will soon go black and iPad will restart.
