Yesterday suddenly I have a gap of about 5 months of my most recent emails on all my devices. I checked the Trash folder but that had only the ones I had set up for deletion. I have 5 messages from this last week and then nothing since 11/7/22. How can I get these important emails back?
Got it. Happily, the issue was resolved -- only with the help of an Apple software support wizard. He was able to use their tools to restore the whole 5 months. He did say that it was good that I called in soon after finding the problem, because it gets harder for them to do such restores the longer the issue has existed.
Have you checked the website? Mail is just a portal that offers local control of web service .
Yahoo, gmail and so forth. Mac Mail is not a mail client per se. It simply allows local control of a web service.
Go to www.icloud.com, login with your Apple ID and check your mail there. It'll have the same exact little icon you see on your Mac.
