disabling capitalization on "notes"

hi! i've been trying to disable auto-capitalization on my new macbook air, and i noticed that it works everywhere (as you can see here) BUT the default "notes" app. i've already tried changing and unchanging it in the keyboard system preferences, but it doesn't seem to have any effect. there also doesn't seem to be an option for this in the notes app itself, and, as i said, this works everywhere else. is there anything i can do about this? it worked on my old mac! thanks in advance!

On my iPads, whenever I go to login to a site, the name always starts with a capital letter. But some of my "names" are not proper names but still ... first letter is ALWAYS capitalized even if the "name" is hjgymmdd it comes up Hjgymmdd as if it's a proper name. I've never been able to "fix" that either.

Sometimes, it seems, Apple is just bent on us using their conventions. Which usually is not a problem for me.
