Tap Settings > General > About
Scroll down and look for Network or Carrier
Tap Settings > General > About
Scroll down and look for Network or Carrier
Carrier 50.0 is a “dummy” carrier that can appear when the phone is connected to no carrier.
You will have to find the carrier the phone is locked to, and ask them to unlock it. Ask whoever you bought the phone from.
You bought the phone from someone. Ask them to contact the carrier they were using to unlock the phone.
You can't do this yourself.....even if you knew what carrier locked the phone.....because the carrier will not recognize you as the owner.
Might be easier to return the phone and ask for a refund.
I sent my phone to Apple repair and I was having this problem upon receiving it back from them. It said Carrier: iPhone 57.0
After many attempts at activating on my own, I called Verizon. The rep said my iPhone 15 Pro Max was appearing on their end as an iPhone 13 Pro Max for some strange reason. After updating that on Verizon's end, she was able to get my phone activated.
Hope this helps anyone else with this issue.
It might help if you had the SIM card in the phone.
What happens if you tap on "Carrier Lock SIM Locked"?
Who did you buy the phone from?
See my previous reply. You bought the phone from someone. If that someone was the real owner, then they know who the carrier is. If they don't, the phone was very likely stolen.
Back up your phone to iCloud…then perform an erase all contents and settings. during the set up process it will download the new activation policy and the phone will be unlocked.

You are going to be out of luck unless you can contact the person that you bought the phone from to get more information. Best to return the phone for a refund.
Find out who the previous carrier was and get serviced through them
I had an issue with my iPhone 14 Pro after submitting an insurance claim to get my phone replaced. AIG’s insurance insurance ciPhone 14 Pro after submitting an insurance claim to get my phone replaced. AIG Apple’s insurance carrier sent me another phone. In the general settings it said it was Sim locked to carrier 56.0 neither my previous carrier my current carrier or Apple would help me even though the phone didn’t come from a carrier. It came from Apple’s insurance carrier AIG it was locked to T-Mobile Metro however they could not open it because they didn’t put that actual lock on it eventually, I had to switch back from my current carrier to T-Mobile Metro to even have a working phone. Apple was no help whatsoever, despite going through weeks with their engineering team and elevated help support team I still have no answers to this day. My advice is get a new phone or go back to your original carrier. I know that that’s garbage for an answer after you pay over $1000 for a phone.
It just shows carrier sim locked
and on carrier is show carrier 50.0
