Apple Mail on MacBook does not delete from IMAP server

Deleting mail on either iPhone or iPad does not update in Apple Mail on MacBook but does update on iOS devices. Deleting mail from MacBook does not update on either iOS device - iPhone or iPad.

Resolved: Called Apple Service and discovered that the VPN app on the computer, though not connected but running in the background, was causing the problem. Deleted the VPN app and now all devices sync as they should.
