Add a line above the footer

I want to add a line at the top of the footer to appear on all pages in Pages

From the Pages View menu, choose Show Layout. That will reveal the footer location as an aid to positioning your line segment. Insert your line shape, rotate to 180 degrees, size, color, and position just above the footer. With the shape still selected, Arrange menu > Section Layout > Move Object to Section Layout. That submerges your line segment below the document's body text in all of your pages. Back at the View menu, you can Hide Layout.
