DO NOT UPDATE TO 10.6.6
APPLE HAS DONE IT AGAIN, They have screwed their users. They released an upgrade without giving the third-party plugin developers an opportunity to make the necessary adjustments to make sure they run. If you install 10.6.6. it will BREAL ALL Third-party plugins. 10.6.6 has rendered FCPX totally useless for me and lost the use of over $1000 on plug-ins. And to make matters worst, Apple did the update (I had the auto-update off but when I upgraded to the latest OSX it turned it off) without me knowing it and I cannot download the previous version to correct my situation. I am done with Apple FCPX. Very ****** right now with Apple.

OOOOOPS! It looks as though FCPX is not the first.
A friend has just told me that Resolve can do something similar using the Depth Mask.
I have given it a quick try and it seems to work but not quite so well as FCPX. I have got some green bleeding through under my arm. However, there are numerous controls for refining the key, which I have not yet mastered having only just been told about it.
Note that the Depth Mask is only available in the paid version.

10.6.6. will break ALL YOUR THIRD PARTY PLUGINS. Something that Apple failed to tell us.
I just wanted to note that I believe this is the first FCP version that requires Monterey 12.6 or later. The prior few versions worked with Big Sur, though they needed 12.3 for specific features like Voice Isolation.
Audio levels have gone very quiet in this update, Have put all to max to get a decent level.
New Apple Pro Video Formats software was rolled out yesterday, have you updated?

Yes I have now found deleting existing audio effects such as limiter and adding again fixes the problem.
Restore 10.6.5 from your backups.
This is a user-to-user forum. As Tom says, send Apple your feedback via Final Cut Pro>Provide Final Cut Pro Feedback... or use this link Feedback - Final Cut Pro - Apple
don't forget to update FXFactory if you use it that helps the problem I had before.
Well, it looks like Codex Color Synth for FCPX - which was abandoned by Codex several years ago, but the color corrector of choice for me - does not survive the update. Shucks, but inevitable. Hope I'm proved wrong.

It could be related to my issue, where audio units applied and set prior to 10.6.6 are now set far too low and get "stuck" on bizarre values. If I need to adjust them I must now delete them and start over with new audio units. Has to be a bug.
Same problem here. Here's my post about it: Channel EQ and Limiter broken after 10.6.… - Apple Community I sent Apple feedback the same day 10.6.6 was released. No one's contacted me yet, which they have about my feedback in the past a couple of times, so kinda worrying.
Bad news is this is a serious bug.
Good news is, one client is paying me to go through ALL of their approved projects (that were completed because no one should update production software mid-project) and deleting, replacing and RE-DOING ALL their Audio Units because these projects will be revised next year.. It's going to take me a week at least.
Some people when they return to projects are going to be very unhappy about this bug. I got two calls about it just this morning from fellow editors.
