Trade -in ipad air

I want to trade-in my ipad air for a new ipad pro but when I write down the serial number it says wrong serial number. What would be the reason for that?

To trade in online likewize, apple's trade in handler, requires the following information for each device type:

For iPhone, iPad (Wi-Fi + Cellular), Non iOS Smartphones

Enter the IMEI Number (Dial *#06# into your device)

For iPad (Wi-Fi) and Apple Watch

Enter Model Number (for example, MGAF2J/A)

For Macbooks

Enter Serial Number (11 or 12-digit number, for example 01234567891)

All of these identifiers can be found in Settings > General > About on the device.

The reason the page says wrong serial number is likely as it is expecting a Model Number or IMEI Number instead.
