apple tv 4k

I just purchased an apple tv 4k. Is is automatically registered as my device with apple, or do I have to call apple and register it?

Apple TV 3rd generation still linked to Apple ID after reset I recently sold an Apple TV 3rd generation, before selling I had done a reset and removed it from the device list. The setup procedure will bind it to an Apple ID account, and that is the only registration needed.
